The Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church has a rich history of service to the body of Christ. The fellowship is blessed with an active membership ranging from newborn to 95 years of age.
The fellowship was organized in 1878 by Elder J. Lincoln. In the first twenty years after the church was organized, the name was changed several times. Elder Lincoln named it "Second Baptist Church." The next pastor, Reverend James Gardner, renamed it "Evangelist Church" in 1894. In 1895, Reverend Albert Honney became pastor and renamed it "First Tennessee Baptist Church" and later he named it back to "Second Baptist Church." Under the pastorship of Reverend Monroe W. Moore in 1898, the church was given its present name "Shiloh Missionary Baptist."
The first church building was constructed in 1901 under the leadership of Reverend Monroe W. Moore. The current church building was constructed under the leadership of Reverend M. C. Cosby in 1956. The Church was incorporated January 25, 1957. Over its long history the Shiloh fellowship has been blessed with several great men of God serving as Pastor. Under the leadership of our current Pastor we are moving into another dimension in Christ.
We have ministries organized to support and minister to the total man and to meet the needs of all age groups in the congregation. Our five major focus areas are evangelism, worship, ministry, fellowship and discipleship. We thank God for the rich heritage of Christian servitude instilled in us by our forefathers. It is our pray and commitment that we remain steadfast in the Word of God as tenaciously and as unmovable as a tree planted by the rivers of water. It is our sincere prayer that our fruits be favorable in His sight and that we will be effective in lifting Christ up that all men will be drawn unto him.
